This year Fit Femme Boot Camp had some major additions to try to bring even more value & support for the Femmes. It was our first launch of the ONLINE program and we had a selection of amazing women from across the globe join the Maastricht crew of Femmes. All of the workouts were in video demo format and posted to our private Facebook group so that everyone knew exactly what we were doing for the week. Who wouldn't want to know they had 1O1 variations of burpees to look forward to? Lol. The workouts were INTENSE, of course with modifications and variations to allow different fitness levels, but it definitely challenged even the fittest of us.
Circuit style training, plyometrics, resistence bands, sprints and stairs were all we needed to get us dripping with sweat, hearts pounding and fat crying! Of course those first few workouts destroyed us all, but we persevered and over the coming weeks we saw how much we all improved. Some personal and all time records were set: Dani dominated the stairs, even when she thought she couldn't possibly do more, she crushed the St. Pietersburg stairs with 24 flights. Lena smoked past all of us in the sprints and made us push our limits to try to catch her. Floor could barely do assisted chin-ups in the beginning, and by the end she was doing 8-1O reps no problem. The power and determination to push their boundaries was ABSOLUTELY INSPIRING!!!
Intense workouts without a focus on nutrition almost always lead to mediocre results, which is why the newest addition to Boot Camp this year was the INTERMITTENT FASTING MEAL PLAN, which most of the women followed. Having done IF previously myself with incredible results, I knew I had to create a nutrition plan that allowed the Femmes to take their bodies to the next level. But like any change in nutrition, the first week or two ALWAYS prove to be the hardest. Thank goodness for our private Facebook group. Many of the Femmes reached out to ask for guidance, support and help when things were tough and will powers were low, especially that first week. The words of encouragement & support were incredible and helped many of us to remember our whys, to stay on course, and if we fell off course, which WE ALL DID (AND DO) AT SOME POINT, they helped to steer us back on the path towards our goals.
The community feel of our Facebook group was especially intimate this year. Awesome engagement from all the Femmes resulted in us getting to know one another better, and the LIVE Facebook Q&A sessions were never short on Qs. Rebecca took the win for most questions asked ;) It was a safe place where any Qs were able to be asked, and the insights gained from the As helped to fine-tune the journey and keep us focused. We also started Food For Thought Fridays, motivational videos touching upon different aspects of fitness, nutrition, & mindfulness that helped to inspire and encourage us to stretch our comfort zones, and work on our inner selves as much as we worked on our outer selves.
Before you knew it, 12 weeks had flown by, assessments were done, and it was time to celebrate with a potluck dinner and of course, the BIG REVEAL of the winners of our Transformation Challenge. SO, here they are:
1ST PLACE (€25O): Rebecca R.
Lost 6kg + lost 25.5cm over her bust, waist, and hips + lost 2.7% body fat
Lost 2.5kg + lost 1Ocm over her bust, waist, and hips + lost 2.3% body fat
Lost 4.4kg + lost 2Ocm over her bust, waist, and hips + lost 2.2% body fat
I'm so proud to have witnessed all of their incredible journeys over 12 weeks together. With my coaching and guidance, and with the encouragement our community, the Femmes pushed past their physical and mental limits, never giving up even when everything in them told them to stop. They not only transformed their fitness and their bodies, they found courage, resilience, determination, and a perseverance that I believe will guide them in every aspect of their daily lives. They challenged their limiting beliefs about themselves, about nutrition, about their fitness & learned that the road to a fitter body and healthier life doesn't need to be about perfection #progressnotperfection.
These women have truly CHANGED MY LIFE - they've absolutely amazed me with their support for one another, their incredible accomplishments, and with their fierce drive to redefine themselves through fitness. It's been an absolute honor to train these women here in Maastricht, and as I move forward to new adventures in Montreal, Canada, I look forward to staying connected with each one of them, to continue to cheering them on their fitness adventures & to continue to bring them inspiration & kick-ass coaching with some NEW ONLINE PROGRAMS down the line.
